CD and Brochure.
In 2006, as part of the reconstruction of U.S. Highway 93 through the Flathead Indian Reservation, the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes arranged with the Montana Dept. of Transportation for the erection of a series of unique signs. These signs inform the travelers of some of the many Salish-Pend d'Oreille and Kootenai place names in the Jocko and Mission Valleys. The brochure explains the Salish-Pend d'Oreille names along the road. Put in the CD and join Tony Incashola as he relates the correct pronunciation of each place name, its translation in English, and the meaning in Salish-Pend d'Oreille culture and history.
